The outstanding bike manufacturer Giant, produces the Twist Freedom Electric Bicycle DX with high quality standards that is rivaled by few other companies. This electric bike has a pedal assist and does not have a throttle. Translation: If you don't pedal, you don't ride. The pedaling kicks in the 250 Watt electric motor which is encased in a poly carbonate unit that monitors the riders output and automatically adjusts the internal seven-speed gearing. There are three different settings on the pedal assisted system, Econ, Normal and Sport. Econ delivers the least power assist while the Sport setting delivers the most. Overall this is a well made ebike with a sturdy aluminum frame and smooth gearing.
The Jeers - Some people may not like the saddle bags on the back of this bike that are used to carry the batteries. The weight of the bicycle is also considerable in the 62 lbs. range but the Freedom Twist DX makes up for it by providing a 40 to 70 mile range, depending on the terrain.
